Typhoon BISING (SURIGAE) Advisory No. 10

This typhoon will continue to bring overcast skies with “on-&-off” rains, severe thunderstorms and gusty winds across the eastern sections of Northern Luzon and Catanduanes.  Meanwhile, its Trough will also bring cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across portions of Eastern & Central Luzon including Metro Manila, Visayas, &  MiMaRoPa.

24-hr Outlook: TY BISING (SURIGAE) is forecast to continue moving north-northwestward at an increased speed of 12 km/hr across the northwestern part of the Central Philippine Sea. This cyclone is expected to weaken into a Category 3 TY within the next 12 to 24 hours.

• WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: Weakens to a Category 3 Typhoon (TY) as it moves slowly NNW-ward towards the southwestern portion of the North Philippine Sea, E of Northern Cagayan…about 260 km E of Santa Ana, Cagayan [2PM Apr 21: 18.2°N 124.6°E @ 205 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
• THURSDAY AFTERNOON: Weakens further to a Category 2 TY as it turns northward well to the east of Batanes Group of Islands…about 276 km E of Basco, Batanes [2PM Apr 22: 20.0°N 124.6°E @ 175 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
• FRIDAY AFTERNOON: Recurves & accelerates  toward the NE & ENE across the North Philippine Sea…just a Category 1 TY…about 677 km ENE of Basco, Batanes [2PM Apr 23: 22.1°N 128.3°E @ 150 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
