Typhoon BISING (SURIGAE) Advisory No. 09

This typhoon will continue to bring overcast skies with “on-&-off” rains with severe thunderstorms and gusty winds across Samar and Bicol Provinces including Bondoc Peninsula (Quezon) today.  Meanwhile, its Trough will also bring cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the Visayas, Northern Sulu Archipelago, & Northern Palawan.

24-hr Outlook: TY BISING (SURIGAE) is forecast to resume moving north-northwestward slowly at a speed of 09 km/hr across the northwestern part of the Central Philippine Sea. This cyclone is expected to weaken into a Category 3 TY within the next 12 to 24 hours.

• Distance 2: 300 km northeast of Caramoan, Camarines Sur

• WEDNESDAY EARLY MORNING: Weakens to a Category 3 Typhoon (TY) as it moves slowly NNW-ward across the northwestern portion of the Central Philippine Sea, E of Northern Luzon…about 287 km E of Palanan, Isabela [2AM Apr 21: 16.9°N 125.1°E @ 195 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
• THURSDAY EARLY MORNING: Weakens further as it starts to recurve towards the NE while over the eastern portion of the Balintang Channel, near the coastal areas of Northern Cagayan…about 190 km ENE of Santa Ana, Cagayan [2AM Apr 22: 18.9°N 123.9°E @ 185 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
• FRIDAY EARLY MORNING: Recurves & accelerates  towards the ENE across the North Philippine Sea, away from the Balintang Channel…about 398 km E of Basco, Batanes [2AM Apr 23: 20.9°N 125.8°E @ 160 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
