Current Status & Outlook BISING (SURIGAE) downgraded into a Severe Tropical Storm (STS) as it moves eastward slowly across the North Philippine Sea…will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow.

24-hr Outlook: STS BISING (SURIGAE) is forecast to move east-southeastward at an increased speed of 17 km/hr across the Western Pacific Ocean. This cyclone is expected to begin transition into an Extratropical Cyclone within the next 24 to 36 hours.

Where is BISING (SURIGAE)? As of 5:00 AM PhT today, April 24…2100 GMT:

  • Location of Center/Eye: Along the easternmost portion of the North Philippine Sea (near 23.1°N 130.9°E)
  • Distance 1: 964 km east-northeast of Basco, Batanes
  • Distance 2: 972 km east of Taipei, Taiwan
  • Distance 3: 1,044 km east-northeast of Santa Ana, Cagayan
