Typhoon BISING (SURIGAE) Advisory No. 08

This typhoon will continue to bring occasional rains with severe thunderstorms and gusty winds across Samar and Bicol Provinces including Bondoc Peninsula (Quezon) tonight & tomorrow.  Meanwhile, its Trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the Visayas, Northern Sulu Archipelago, & Northern Palawan.

24-hr Outlook: TY BISING (SURIGAE) is forecast to resume moving north-northwestward slowly at a speed of 07 km/hr across the northwestern part of the Central Philippine Sea. This cyclone is expected to weaken into a Category 3 TY within the next 12 to 24 hours.

• Location of Center/Eye: Along the western portion of the Central Philippine Sea (near 14.8°N 126.3°E)
• Distance 1: 245 km east-northeast of Pandan, Catanduanes
• Distance 2: 286 km east-northeast of Caramoan, Camarines Sur
• Distance 3: 360 km east-northeast of Naga City, Camarines Sur

• TUESDAY AFTERNOON: Weakens to a Category 3 Typhoon (TY) as it moves very slowly NNW-ward across the northwestern portion of the Central Philippine Sea, NE of Catanduanes…about 296 km NE of Pandan, Catanduanes [2PM Apr 20: 16.1°N 125.9°E @ 205 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
• WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: Weakens further while accelerating slightly NNW-ward across the southwestern portion of the North Philippine Sea, just to the east of Northern Cagayan…about 272 km E of Santa Ana, Cagayan [2PM Apr 21: 18.1°N 124.7°E @ 185 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
• THURSDAY AFTERNOON: Maintains its decaying trend, just a Category 2 TY as it starts to recurve towards the North and NNE across the western portion of the North Philippine Sea, east of Batanes Group…about 281 km ESE of Basco, Batanes [2PM Apr 22: 19.8°N 124.6°E @ 165 kph].  Confidence Level: HIGH
