Tropical Depression AMANG Advisory No. 01

48-hr Outlook: TD AMANG is forecast to slightly intensify as it approaches Bicol Peninsula. The system will make landfall over Catanduanes-Albay-Camarines Provinces tomorrow and will traverse the area through the evening. By Thursday morning (Apr 13), AMANG will emerge along the NW Coast of Camarines Norte and weaken. 

• Location of Center/Eye: Along the western part of the Central Philippine Sea (near 13.6°N 127.5°E)
• Distance 1:  355 km east of Virac, Catanduanes
• Distance 2:  465 km east of Naga City, Camarines Sur
• Distance 3:  415 km east of Legazpi City, Albay

• Over Catanduanes-Albay-Camarines Provinces on Wednesday morning (Apr 12), between 8 AM to 5 PM ~ with High Strike Probability of >90%.

• Bicol & Samar Provinces – Beginning Today through Wednesday (Apr 12).
• Southern Tagalog Provinces – Beginning Wednesday (Apr 12) through Thursday (Apr 13).

• THURSDAY MORNING: Weakens slightly after crossing Bicol Mainland, emerges over the northwestern coast of Camarines Norte…about 70 km WNW of Daet, Camarines Norte [8AM Apr 13: 14.4°N 122.4°E @ 55-75 kph].  Forecast Confidence:  LOW
• FRIDAY MORNING: Dissipates into a Remnant LPA after traversing the southern portion of Central Luzon…moving WNW @ 19 kph…about 110 km ENE of Tandag City, Surigao Del Sur [8AM Apr 14: 15.4°N 120.0°E @ 35-50 kph].  Forecast Confidence: LOW
